DESCRIPTION
MUSIC WORKSHOP (NFC) Voice Performance Workshop and/or Individual Voice Lessons. This Workshop is
designed to study Voice and basic principles of its use, including vocal techniques for individual and group performance. Basic techniques of vocal pedagogy are emphasized. Individual applied lessons will be included. All levels of experience are welcome; no prior music lessons are necessary. Participants with previous voice training can also receive private voice lessons if they so desire. Performance opportunities include a weekly Master Class, a CSA Concert, and various other performance locales in and around Salzburg. As a class member, you will also have numerous opportunities to attend concerts and other musical attractions in Austria/Germany. Private Voice Lessons: are available to all participants; contact Dr. Megginson if interested.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Julie Megginson is an Associate Professor of Music at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. Dr. Megginson received the DMA in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina and the MA and BMEV from Eastern Michigan University. She has sung throughout the region in opera, oratorio, choral and solo recitals, including performances with Mobile Opera singing the role of the High Priestess in Verdi’s Aida, and with OperAlbany (Georgia), singing Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and as the Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Dr. Megginson has also performed with the Albany Symphony in Brahms’ German Requiem, Haydn’s Creation, and Mozart’s Requiem. REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL FEES
This Workshop is open to all students with an interest in Voice performance. Workshop fees (NFC) are: $350 and will be billed separately in the spring by CSA. Additional fees: may include field trips (i.e. concerts, performances, etc.) and purchase of music (instructor will contact students prior to departure). Private Voice Lessons Fee: $50/hour billed by & paid to instructor in Salzburg.
